Break All the Rules

Break-All-the-Rules

How far are you willing to go in order to see success in this sport? Do you already know your limitations or are you still pushing to find them? Do you set your own course and follow your own path or do you abide by the rules already set forth that may be holding you back? There’s a difference between using the golden rules of training and bodybuilding to further your progress and just following them because that’s what you’re told to do. Sometimes you have to bend or even break some of those rules by going against the grain to get what you want. Don’t be shy if that’s what it takes and if you have to break all of the rules, then by all means break them!

There is no one size fits all when it comes to building muscle, getting ripped, bulking up and everything else in between. You find what works best for you, maximize your plan for everything it’s worth, evaluate and identify when you need change and then respond accordingly. You will find information out there pertaining to just about every training method that’s ever existed, every single dieting strategy used, the best supplements to buy and the best training clothes to wear for complimenting your physique. None of it matters though if it doesn’t work for you so the only way to find what does is to sometimes go against popular belief and do what others won’t.

You don’t have to eat six meals a day. You don’t have to perform fasted cardio if you don’t want to. There’s no proof that says there’s only one way to train to build muscle. Intermittent fasting doesn’t work for everyone trying to burn body fat. The list here could go on and on but you get the point. Perhaps all it will take for you to find success is a little bit from here, a little more from there and a bunch of your own theories and ideas to make it work. You may encounter people who will tell you you’re doing everything wrong and the rules are there to follow. To that I say, show me a rule book and point out to me the bodybuilding police enforcing these rules and maybe then I’ll reconsider.

Finding comfort and pleasure in what you’re trying to achieve within the work that needs to be done is incredibly important. If you don’t like how something is shaping up based upon the advice you were given, then stop doing it. Just because a group of people enforce a certain strategy or approach and praise its value, doesn’t mean it will work for you. If doing the exact opposite of what everyone else is doing keeps you growing and gets you closer to your goals, then do it. There really is no right or wrong when it comes to training, nutrition and all other facets of the bodybuilding lifestyle if you can somehow manage to find the benefit in whatever it is you decide to do. All that matters is what you do end up settling on to find your success works and if it means you have to break all the rules along the way, then so be it.
